Eagles holding their own at ladies’ tournament

Namibia’s national women’s cricket team, the Capricorn Eagles have performed well at the ongoing Capricorn Women’s Tri-Nations series, which got underway at the CCD field on Wednesday.

Namibia won their first match by seven wickets against Zimbabwe after chasing down a total of 181 runs in 20 overs.

They followed that victory with a 12 run win over Uganda in the second match before beating Uganda by eight runs in the third match.

In their fourth match, Namibia lost to Zimbabwe by nine wickets before beating Uganda by 28 and 11 runs respective in the fourth and fifth matches.

Namibia and Zimbabwe currently have eight points apiece after winning four matches each and losing one.

Namibia will now play Zimbabwe on Sunday afternoon.
