Frankfurt:Younes Ebnoutalib scored in the 77th minute, giving Eintracht Frankfurt a 1-0 win over Cologne and ending their home victory drought in the Bundesliga on Friday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Frankfurt's coach Adi Hutter made strategic changes after a heavy 6-0 loss to RB Leipzig the previous week, bringing Younes Ebnoutalib, Mario Gotze, and Fares Chaibi into the starting lineup.
Cologne came close to shocking Frankfurt within the first minute. Marius Bulter latched onto a pass from Borna Sosa and advanced towards goal, but Noah Atubolu, marking his 100th Bundesliga appearance, made an impressive save. Atubolu thwarted Bulter again after a free kick in the 32nd minute, and Sebastian Sebulonsen's volley narrowly missed.
In the second half, Frankfurt dominated, pushing Cologne back and creating numerous scoring opportunities. The decisive moment arrived with 13 minutes left, as Ebnoutalib linked up with substitute Noel Aseko following a high turnover, finishing with a precise low shot into the near corner.
This win elevates Frankfurt to eighth place in the league with eight points from six matches, while Cologne falls to 11th, continuing a 16-match streak without an away win. Frankfurt will face Borussia Dortmund next, and Cologne will play against Schalke 04.
