Windhoek: An elderly couple was robbed of property worth an estimated N.dollars 140,000 in Windhoek's Academia residential area on Friday. The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in a crime report on Sunday said the robbery occurred around 07h00 in Plato Street.According to Namibia Press Agency, police said the male suspects allegedly gained access to the residence through the gate of the secured yard before confronting the victims at gunpoint. The couple was allegedly overpowered and tied up with electrical cables before being locked inside separate rooms. The suspects then allegedly fled with valuables including cellphones, jewellery, and laptops, with an estimated value of N.dollars 140,000.In a separate incident, police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of 23-year-old Shitaa Mushakwa Felix in the early hours of Saturday. According to the report, the crash occurred at approximately 04h08 in Rendsburger Street in Windhoek. It is alleged that Felix, who was driving a black sedan with two p assengers, lost control over the vehicle and it collided with a stationary truck. According to police, the passengers managed to pull him from the wreckage, but he died upon arrival at the hospital. The two passengers sustained moderate injuries. Felix's next of kin have been informed of his death. Police investigations in both matters continue.
