Oshikoto: Governor Sacky Kathindi has hailed the successful hosting of Namibia's 36th Independence Day celebrations across all 11 constituencies in the region, describing the nationwide commemoration as a strong expression of unity and national pride.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Kathindi commended the high level of coordination, broad public participation, and vibrant community spirit that characterized the celebrations, noting that each constituency played a meaningful role in marking the historic occasion.
'I am proud to say that the independence celebrations in the Oshikoto Region were a resounding success in all 11 constituencies. The turnout, the organisation, and the spirit of our people were truly commendable,' he said.
Kathindi, who also serves as chairperson of the Regional Governors' Forum of Namibia, added that similar positive feedback has been received from other regions, reflecting a shared national commitment to commemorating independence.
'Other governors called me to say the Independence Day celebrations in their respective regions were equally successful. This shows that as a nation, we are united and committed to honouring our independence,' he said.
He noted that the success of the decentralised celebrations underscores Namibia's enduring cohesion and collective reflection as the country marks 36 years of sovereignty.
