Erongo police make several arrests in drug-related crimes

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) arrested two 19-year old Namibian suspects for alleged possession of Cannabis and Mandrax tablets at Arandis in the Erongo region on Friday.

According to the NamPol weekend serious crime report issued on Sunday, the suspects were arrested after a police search was conducted.

The suspects were found in possession of 30 small and 25 medium bags of skunk cannabis weighing 50 grams; three full, one half and one-quarter of Mandrax altogether valued at N.dollars 2 950, the police said.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

In a separate incident, NamPol arrested a 26–year old Namibian male for alleged possession of crack cocaine and Mandrax tablets on Friday at Mondesa location in Swakopmund.

According to the report, the suspect was reportedly arrested after police found in his possession, ten units of crack Cocaine and ten Mandrax tablets valued at N.dollars 1 120 during a police search.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

A 29-year old Namibia male was further arrested in the Mondesa location for alleged possession of 20 full and 10 halves of Mandrax tablets and one big bag, nine medium bags containing cannabis as well as loose cannabis weighing 50 grams valued at N.dollars 5 500.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court Monday.

Meanwhile, a Namibian male suspect was reportedly arrested for dealing with and cultivation of cannabis at Ondangwa, in the Oshana region on Friday.

“It is alleged that the suspect was arrested after he sold 50 grams of cannabis to an undercover police officer and was also found in possession of 25 grams of fresh plants at his house, to the total value of N.dollars 3 750,” the report reads.

Police investigations into all matters continue.
