Rio de janeiro: Fluminense has appointed Argentine Luis Zubeldia as its new manager, just two days after the departure of Renato Gaucho. Zubeldia, 44, has committed to a contract that extends until December 2026, as announced by the Brazilian Serie A club on its official website.According to Namibia Press Agency, Zubeldia will begin his responsibilities on Friday, when he will be officially presented and will lead the team in training. Renato Gaucho resigned following a 1-1 home draw with Lanus on Tuesday, a result that led to Fluminense's elimination from the Copa Sudamericana.Zubeldia has been without a managerial position since his exit from Sao Paulo in June due to a series of unsatisfactory results. His first challenge with the Rio de Janeiro team will be a home match against Botafogo in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday.
