Windhoek: First National Bank of Namibia (FNB), through the FirstRand Namibia Foundation, has provided a significant boost to paediatric care at Windhoek Central Hospital by donating medical monitors valued at N$500,000 to the Namibia National Children's Heart Trust (NNCHT).

According to Namibia Press Agency, the bank stated in a media release on Thursday that the medical monitors will primarily be utilized in the hospital's paediatric ward, aiding healthcare professionals in tracking the health of young patients. The donation is part of FNB Namibia's broader initiative to support healthcare needs across the country.

FNB Namibia's Head of Public Sector Banking, Bolle Hans, emphasized during the handover on Tuesday that this contribution aligns with the foundation's mission to support healthcare initiatives in Namibia. Hans highlighted the importance of such donations in enhancing the quality of care provided to children and improving patient outcomes, which in turn benefits families and the wider community.

Hans praised the NNCHT for their efforts in identifying gaps within the healthcare system and their ongoing advocacy for patients and families. The foundation reiterated its commitment to backing projects that address community needs while offering practical and sustainable solutions.

The handover event was attended by representatives from various organizations including the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Bank of Namibia, NNCHT, healthcare professionals, partners, and other stakeholders.
