Namibia Football Association (NFA) match commissioner for the Northwest Stream First Division (NSFD) and the Otjozondjupa Second Division Football League (OSDFL), Usuta Kasenda has called on club officials to improve on their administration.

Kasenda said this in an interview with Nampa over the weekend at the Omulunga Stadium in Grootfontein during the NSFD and OSDFL fixtures.

The match commissioner said club administrators, especially the Second Division teams, need to pull up their socks.

“The games over the weekend were a success because the players are hungry for football. I am hopeful that as the league progresses, there is room for improvement in terms of administration. Most of these second division teams don’t have team returns and teams don’t behave like they are playing in a higher division,” he said, adding that there is a lack of information from club officials to players and most players do not understand how to behave while competing in the second division.

Kasenda also said their local leagues started in late November, but the football on display over the weekend made him hopeful for Namibia’s football future as players displayed exciting skills and composure.

For the NSFD matches over the weekend, Eleven Warriors lost 1-2 against Okakarara Young Warriors, while Oshikuku Young Stars drew two-all against Ongwediva City. Young Chiefs beat African Motto 2-1 while Golden Bees and UNAM Ogongo drew three-all. Touch and Go got the better of Onambula United with a 3-1 win.

The OSDFL saw action between Corrections II losing 3-1 against Kaltes Wasser, and Air Masters losing 2-3 against Otjozondjupa NamPol, while Chelsea beat Ama Roots 3-0 and Dynamos outclassed Golden Fire 3-0.

Sunday action saw Kaltes Wasser and Otjozondjupa NamPol once again picking up points from Air Masters and Corrections II respectively, while Dynamos and Ama Roots shared a point each after their two-all draw.

Chelsea got the better of their opponents Golden Fire whom they beat 5-2.

The First Division action saw Eleven Warriors beat African Lions 1-0, Oshikuku Young Stars beat African Motto 2-1, Young Chiefs and Ongwediva City drew one-all, Touch and Go beat UNAM Ogongo 3-0 and Golden Bees beat Onambula United 3-1.
