Otjiwarongo: Former Otjozondjupa governor and member of parliament under the Swapo party ticket, James Unomasa Uerikua, died on Friday in a car accident on the road between Otjiwarongo and Okakarara.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Joseph Shikongo confirmed the incident, stating that the full details of the accident remain unclear as the police investigation continues. Shikongo indicated that it appears the former governor was traveling with his family at the time of the accident.
