Impalila: The Namibian Police Force at Impalila Island registered an inquest docket after a 76-year-old French national died by drowning in the Zambezi River when a boat she and others were aboard capsized.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the incident occurred on Monday morning at around 09h00 as seven tourists were traveling from a lodge by boat for a village tour around Impalila Island. The deceased, identified as Michele Janine Eliane, has had her next of kin informed, as stated in the police report.
The body was taken to the Impalila Clinic mortuary. Police investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.
