Gertze Takes Over the Reins in ||Kharas Region

Keetmanshoop: Newly appointed ||Kharas Governor, Dawid Gertze, has called on the inhabitants of his region to stand together and rally for social and economic development for all. Gertze made the remarks at Keetmanshoop on Monday, where outgoing governor Aletha Frederick handed over the leadership role to the new governor.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Gertze emphasized that his appointment is for all the inhabitants of the region, regardless of their race or political affiliations. He stated that he was given a mandate by the president to work with the people and serve everyone in the region. Gertze highlighted the common challenges faced by the ||Kharas Region and urged all political formations to work together to ensure that necessary services are delivered to the community.

'Let us do away with unnecessary small politics while people are waiting for services. The captains of industry and those that can assist this community, start to move us from being your social responsibility to your significant partners. To the inhabitants of the region, I want to invite you to be partners with us on this road to ensure that after five years, we will see incredible changes,' the governor stated.

||Kharas Regional Council chairperson, Joseph Isaaks, extended gratitude to the outgoing governor, noting that Frederick embraced her leadership role with commitment. He acknowledged her efforts in inspiring young people, particularly young girls, to recognize their potential and capacities. Isaaks also noted the complexities of political careers and wished Frederick success in her future endeavors.

The chairperson reassured the new governor of the council's commitment to collaboration and coordination for progress. Isaaks expressed the regional council's readiness to work with Gertze to strengthen governance, deepen development, and unlock the full potential of the region for the benefit of its people.
