A total of 38 goals were scored over the weekend as the Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) marked a welcomed return following a one-month break over the festive season.
On Saturday, 18 goals were scored while 20 were recorded on Sunday, despite Saturday’s match between Civics and Okahandja United being abandoned due to adverse weather conditions.
Life Fighters were the biggest scorers of the weekend as they managed to overcome a 3-1 loss against African Stars Saturday to thrash Young Brazilians 6-1 on Sunday.
Stars, meanwhile, consolidated their position at the top with two victories that saw them maintain their unbeaten run of the season after nine rounds of matches.
Stars have won eight and drawn once, leaving them top of the log with 25 points.
They are followed by Fighters, who are on 18 points, level with Blue Waters who drew 1-1 with Orlando Pirates on Saturday, before defeating Tigers 2-1 on Sunday.
Blue Waters remain third with 15 points following their draw and victory at the coast, with Okahandja moving to fourth on 15 points after their match against Civics was abandoned.
Mighty Gunners are fifth (15) followed by Pirates (14), who are above Julinho Sporting on the same number of points.
At position eight is Civics (12), followed by University of Namibia (UNAM) with 11, which sits above Young African (11) and Tura Magic (9).
Eleven Arrows are 12th with eight points, with Black Africa at 13th with seven points, followed by Brazilians (7), Tigers (6) and bottom-placed Citizens (1).
