Hausiku was a committed Christian: Sihepera church

The name of Marco Hausiku will remain written on the walls of St.Marco Roman Catholic Church and can be seen from a distance even before entering the church premises located in Sihepera village where Hausiku was a member.

This was shared on Thursday during his memorial service held at the late Hausiku’s farmhouse called Kaparara located in Mankumpi Constituency in the Kavango West Region.

The church building he constructed signalled Hausiku’s efforts of unifying people while corresponding with his humanitarian aids of subsidising church construction work in that village.

In his eyes Deocon Lukas Haupindi Hamutenya of St Marry Rundu of Roman Catholica Church and at same time served the St. Marco Roman Catholic Church in some instances said, Hausiku was a committed Christian who was devoted and played a big role both in politics and in religious.

Meanwhile neighbours of Kaparara farm, close villages, towns such as Rundu and Nkurenkuru and from nearby Ohangwena Region converged at Hausiku’s farm to pay their last respects to the former deputy prime minister.

Speaker after speaker highlighted different pillars the late veteran politician played during his youthful days, mostly qualifying the unifying charisma he possessed.

Despite the loss, his two clans (paternal and maternal side) Sifire Veiko who spoke on behalf of paternal side requested the family members to carry on from where Hausiku’s legacy ended and pleaded to family to continue cooperating.

“The fact that our son died on Heroes Day (26 August) is a godly indication that he died a hero and it will remain a memorable day to us. However, we welcome President Hage Geingob’s call for him (Hausiku) to be buried at Heroes’ Acre,” Veiko said.

The maternal side revealed that Marco was from the vakwasipika clan the branch that extend into Royal family of Mbunza. according to them the late Hausiku inherited the whole unifying and humanitarian characters from his mother Natalia Nangura Kahare.

“We want this legacy to continue in our family as Marco is no more, we are sad about his departure, but who are we to question God’s will?”

Two other memorial services will be held in the Kavango East Region, one on Friday at his house in Rundu, Safari residential area and another on Saturday at the Rundu Trade Fair Hall.
