Health Ministry Awards Scholarships to 52 Students, Launches ‘Project 2025’

Windhoek: Minister of Health and Social Services, Esperance Luvindao, on Wednesday handed over scholarship award letters to 52 healthcare undergraduate students. During the ceremony at the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Luvindao also unveiled 'Project 2025,' an initiative designed to develop specialised skills within Namibia's healthcare system.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Luvindao highlighted the necessity of embracing specialised skills as the healthcare system evolves. 'Project 2025' is described as a key component of the workforce strategic plan, aiming to produce graduates in fields such as dental therapy, medical engineering, dental physicians, orthology, optometry, audiology, speech and language therapy, medical physics, and clinical technology.

Jamie Henckert, one of the scholarship recipients, expressed gratitude towards the ministry and emphasized the importance of diligence. She noted the absence of financial burdens as a significant opportunity to complete her education and return to serve her community in Namibia.

Luvindao encouraged eligible youth to apply for the scholarship, stressing its importance in nurturing young talent in critical healthcare fields. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to the professional development of young people, marking a significant step in supporting their academic and professional journeys.
