According to Namibia Press Agency, applicants are required to submit their applications to their respective institutions by 17h00 on 15 April 2026. After the submission to the institutions, the applications will be forwarded to the ministry for review.
The decision to extend the deadline followed consultations with Institutions of Higher Learning and the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture. The ministry has resolved to provide international students, who missed the initial deadline, a final opportunity to submit their applications for student permits.
International students who failed to meet the initial deadline are instructed to submit their applications through the Offices of the Dean of Students at their respective institutions. The ministry emphasized that if certain required documents, such as police clearance certificates, are still pending, applicants must provide proof that they have already applied for them.
The ministry urged international students to strictly adhere to the prescribed timelines to facilitate the timely processing of applications in accordance with the law.
