Jakarta: The Indonesian National Police highlighted their commitment to integrating modern technology in law enforcement by showcasing 10 humanoid robots during their anniversary celebration in Jakarta. The event took place at the National Monument area in Central Jakarta, where the robots, dressed in police attire such as berets and vests, performed activities including marching, saluting, and running. Each robot was remotely operated by a police officer using a handheld controller.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, head of the public information bureau of the Indonesian National Police, emphasized the institution's dedication to adopting technological advances. He mentioned that the humanoid robots could play a crucial role in police operations, particularly in identifying individuals involved in frequent brawls in Jakarta.
In addition to the humanoid robots, the police also introduced four-legged robots that resemble dogs. These robots are designed for detecting potential explosives in vehicles, including trucks that might carry radioactive materials, enhancing the capability of the police force to maintain security and safety.
