Windhoek: Indonesia recorded a carbon trading volume of 1,599,326 tons of CO2e with a transaction value of 77.95 billion rupiah (around 4.79 million U.S. dollars) since the launch of the Carbon Exchange (IDXCarbon) on Sept. 26, 2023, to July 11, 2025, the Indonesia Stock Exchange said on Tuesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, IDXCarbon is committed to facilitating carbon trading by providing a reliable yet flexible secondary market to meet the needs of market participants, while prioritizing a transparent, fair, orderly, and efficient market, stated Iman Rachman, president director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
A total of eight projects are officially registered with IDXCarbon, covering clean energy and waste management sectors. These projects demonstrate IDXCarbon's role in supporting the clean energy transition and achieving national greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.
