Istanbul: The 17th International Defence Industry Fair commenced in Istanbul, featuring a comprehensive display of new defense technologies over a six-day period. This biennial event, first held in 1993, has gathered 219 delegations and 937 officials from 99 countries, with over 400 international and 1,000 Turkish companies presenting their latest advancements.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the fair highlights several debuts, including the ADVENT combat management system and the AI-powered navigation assistant Bluevision, both developed by Turkey's prominent defense company Havelsan. Another major Turkish defense firm, Aselsan, is set to present over 300 locally-engineered products.

During the opening ceremony, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed Turkey's readiness to develop long-term, multidimensional partnerships based on a win-win approach. Additionally, Secretary of Turkish Defence Industries Haluk Gorgun stated that the event aims to expand market reach and foster business partnerships for major industry players and SMEs within the defense, aerospace, and cybersecurity sectors.
