Busan: The International Testing Agency (ITA) has announced the appointment of Jacques Antenen as the new Chair of the ITA Foundation Board. Antenen will succeed Dr. Valerie Fourneyron, the inaugural Chair, who has led the Board since its inception in 2018.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the announcement came during ITA's second biannual meeting held in Busan, South Korea, coinciding with the World Conference on Doping in Sport. Alongside Antenen's appointment, the ITA also named Ingmar de Vos, President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) from Belgium, and Mao Lijuan, President of the Shanghai Institute of Physical Education from China, as new members of the Board.
Dr. Fourneyron's mandate, along with those of Francesco Ricci Bitti, former President of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federation (ASOIF) from Italy, and Chen Peijie, President of the Shanghai University of Sport from China, will conclude at the end of 2025. Swiss national Jacques Antenen, previously Head of the investigating magistrates of the Canton of Vaud and Commander of the Vaud Cantonal Police, will assume his new responsibilities on January 1, 2026.
The ITA emphasized Antenen's reputation for independence, transparency, and principled leadership, citing his extensive experience in institutional integrity as a significant asset for the organization. Ingmar de Vos, who also serves as the new ASOIF president, has been appointed as the representative of international sports federations on the Board, while Mao Lijuan joins as an independent member.
