Tajikistan: The Russian and Tajik armed forces have started joint military drills in Tajikistan, the Russian Defense Ministry announced. The opening ceremony was held at the Harbmaidon training range in the Khatlon region of Tajikistan, marking the beginning of a coordinated effort between the two countries’ armed forces.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the event commenced with the general formation of military personnel. Military bands performed the national anthems of Russia and Tajikistan, and the national flags of both nations were raised in a formal ceremony. The participants of the exercise then marched in a single formation on the parade ground of the field camp.
During the exercises, the contingents from both countries will focus on organizing the use of armed forces to eliminate terrorist groups and training units for operations in mountainous regions. The main phase of the drills will involve conducting a joint operation to eliminate illegal armed formations, managing units during state border protection, and neutralizing bandit groups that have infiltrated the area.
