Windhoek: Brave Gladiators head coach Lucky Kakuva on Wednesday announced his preliminary squad for Namibia's upcoming international fixtures, with the team set to face neighbors Botswana in two friendly matches this month. The Brave Gladiators will use the encounters against Botswana as part of their preparations for the upcoming Olympic qualifiers against Angola.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Namibia will face Botswana in Gaborone on 26 and 30 September, with the two matches expected to provide the technical team with an opportunity to assess the squad, build team cohesion, and fine-tune preparations ahead of the qualifiers. The squad will begin its training camp on Saturday, 19 September, as Kakuva and his technical team step up preparations for the busy international calendar.
The Brave Gladiators are scheduled to face Angola in the Olympic qualifiers on 09 and 12 October 2026 in Luanda, Angola. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 15h00. Kakuva has named a preliminary squad featuring a blend of experienced players and emerging talent from clubs across Namibia, as well as players based abroad.
