Rundu: The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Namibia-Angola, in collaboration with the Office of the Ombudsman, will host a multi-day Human Rights Training in Rundu from 22 to 24 July 2025. Held under the theme 'Understanding Access to Justice and the Legislative Framework to Combat Gender-Based Violence, Trafficking in Persons, and Child Care and Protection,' the training aims to deepen knowledge and enhance collaboration among key stakeholders.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the programme will bring together representatives from several key Namibian institutions, including the Ministry of Justice, the Namibian Police Force, the Office of the Judiciary, and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (MGESI). The workshop is designed to strengthen the practical application of legal protections and improve access to justice, particularly for vulnerable and marginalised communities, through expert presentations, legal analysis, and inter-institutional dialogue.

Over the course of three days, participants will engage in discussions on topics such as legal aid, protection orders, community courts, gender-based and domestic violence, child rights, disability inclusion, and modern slavery. KAS noted that the initiative reflects a growing need for coordinated responses to human rights challenges within Namibia's justice and social protection systems.

'This workshop forms part of KAS's broader commitment to strengthening democratic governance, the rule of law, and the protection of fundamental rights through capacity-building and institutional partnerships,' the organisation stated.
