Khomas records four murders over weekend

The Khomas Region recorded four murder cases, the weekend crime report by the Namibian Police (NamPol) issued on Sunday indicates.

According to the report, a 27-year-old man from Okuryangava died on his way to the hospital after he was stabbed with an unknown object during a quarrel at around 22h45 on Saturday.

The deceased’s next of kin have been informed but no arrest was made.

On the same day at Greenwell residential area, a 23-year-old man died after four suspects allegedly broke into a corrugated iron shack in which the deceased and two other men lived.

The suspects allegedly stabbed the deceased with an unknown object leading to his death.

The other two men aged 22 and 23 years survived with minor injuries.

It is alleged that the suspects fled with all three men’s cellphones, N.dollars 300 in cash and a bag of clothes.

Police investigations into the matter continue.

Still on the same day at Single Quarters in Katutura, a 32-year-old man died after he and another man were spotted arguing in the street.

It is alleged that the suspect stabbed the deceased with an Okapi knife on the right side of his chest.

The deceased succumbed to his injuries and died on the spot.

His next of kin were informed and police investigations into the matter continue.

Meanwhile at a bar in Dolam, Katutura, a 20-year-old man died after he was stabbed with an unknown object several times all over his body.

Two men who were arrested by the police accused the deceased of allegedly using vulgar language toward them which provoked them to stab him to death.

The incident happened on Sunday at around 01h30.

His next of kin were informed and police investigations into the matter continue.
