Kinda with his guide Goagoseb currently compete in the T12 category but will be travelling to the United Arab Emirates to compete in the International Paralympic Committee’s Dubai 2022 Grand Prix from 21 to 24 March 2022, and go through reclassification where Kinda who is now completely blind might be reclassified to the T11 category.

In an interview with Nampa on Friday, the 100m and 200m sprinter said qualifying for the Commonwealth Games will mean a lot to him.

“I have never represented Namibia at a bigger competitions but I have been training hard and I am happy with the times I am currently running. I am hopeful by the time the Commonwealth Games come we will be running better times that will introduce me to the international scene,” said Kinda who added that he is pushing himself hard every day despite all the aches he gets at training.

His guide Goagoseb who also competes as a 200m and 400m sprinter added that they have been hard at work together for a while now.

“Qualifying for the Commonwealth Games will mean a lot to Chris as well as myself. As a guide, I have set myself goals to help him win medals but as an athlete, I want to do better so that I can one day help my family,” he said.

Kinda and his guide are currently in South Africa to compete at the Winelands International held in Stellenbosch on Saturday as part of their preparation for the Commonwealth Games.
