Moscow: The Kremlin expresses condolences over the death of Russia's Channel One military correspondent Anna Prokofieva, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, earlier in the day, the press service of the broadcaster announced that Channel One military correspondent Anna Prokofieva died in the line of duty in the Belgorod Region. Russia's Channel One cameraman Dmitry Volkov sustained serious injuries and has been connected to a breathing ventilator. He was urgently taken to a hospital in Kursk, the region's acting governor, Alexander Khinshtein, stated.
"Another loss among journalists. Channel One, Anna Prokofieva... Our condolences are primarily with Anna's family and the entire staff of Channel One," Peskov told reporters.
The car carrying Prokofieva was blown up by a mine left by the Ukrainian military, Peskov added.
