Leader and Chief Change Campaigner of the Landless People’s Movement (LPM), Bernadus Swartbooi has announced that the party will hold its first policy conference in mid-2023.

Swartbooi, while closing a three-day LPM annual councillors’ forum yesterday, said the party will have a policy conference in the middle of the year to map out the policy of the party for the country.

In conjunction with his announcement, he added that LPM will have their second People’s Assembly this year.

However, Swartbooi also addressed issues identified by the party during the forum such as the political, social and economic contradiction of poverty, inequality and unemployment that he claims the current government will never address.

“Swapo lacks the economic and ideological analysis and understanding to execute a successful economic development programme for this nation. If they had such a decent programme, it would have shown 30 years after they took office,” said Swartbooi.
