Man commits suicide at Sikondo village

A 20-year-old man from Sikondo village in the Kavango West Region on Saturday committed suicide by hanging himself in his room, the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) has said.

NamPol in its weekend crime report issued on Sunday indicated that the incident occured around 19h00 and no foul play is suspected.

The motive for the suicide is unknown and there was no suicide note left.

His body was transported to the Rundu State Hospital pending an autopsy.

His next of kin have been informed.

In an unrelated incident, two men aged 28 and 41 were arrested at Sifuha village in the Zambezi Region for the alleged possession of game meat.

The duo was arrested after being found in possession of fresh and dried kudu meat valued at N.dollars 6000.

The two men will appear in the Katima Mulilo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
