Katima mulilo: A 54-year-old man died at Katima Mulilo District Hospital following a road accident on Wednesday night.

According to Namibia Press Agency, a report issued by the Namibian Police Force on Thursday alleges that a Zambian truck with registration number AMB1031 was entering the B8 road from north to south, opposite the Puma service station in town. At the same time, a Toyota Camry without registration plates was traveling northwards from the southern side when the accident occurred.

The report states that the Camry collided with the trailer of the truck, causing serious damage to the vehicle. The victim, who was the sole occupant of the sedan, was taken by ambulance to Katima Mulilo District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The deceased's next of kin had not yet been formally informed of his death. Police investigations into the matter continue.
