President Nangolo Mbumba has praised Swapo's accomplishments in Khorixas and in the entire Namibia over its 34 years of governing the country.Speaking at the Swapo rally held in Khorixas on Saturday, Mbumba said their manifesto presented accomplishments in infrastructure development and construction, renovation of schools in the whole of Kunene, and the recently inaugurated vocational training centre in Khorixas.'I was here on 07 August to inaugurate the Khorixas Vocational Training Centre. Now it is there, everyone can see it, and it is yours; it belongs to the people of Khorixas, the great Kunene Region, and Namibia. The Swapo Party government brought it here,' he said.Mbumba said his party's manifesto does not contain unrealistic promises; it outlines the accomplishments the Swapo government has achieved over 34 years of independence.'It (manifesto) does not contain empty promises. Rather, it outlines what Swapo has achieved over the past 34 years and what we plan to do in the next five years to e nsure that the current and future generations of Namibia will be able to control their political, social, cultural, and economic destiny,' Mbumba said.Mbumba also highlighted that the Swapo-led government has spent N.dollars 10 million to construct and upgrade medical facilities in the Kunene Region.The manifesto did not include the pressing drought issues in Kunene; but cited the human-wildlife conflict in the region.'I met with the traditional chiefs from the region and the line ministry to seek a collective solution on how this matter can be resolved,' Mbumba said.The Ministry of Environment has improved compensation to the affected communities and engages with them in reducing human-wildlife conflicts.Mbumba said Swapo will continue to bring development to Khorixas and the Kunene Region at large, as long as they vote for Swapo in the November national elections.Source:The Namibia News Agency
