Windhoek: Namibia's international rider Alex Miller and South African rider Lize-Ann Louw were crowned the men's and women's Individual Time Trial (ITT) champions respectively on the opening stage of the 2026 Pupkewitz Megabuild Tour de Windhoek.According to Namibia Press Agency, the five-stage tour, taking place from 13 to 16 August 2026, brings together leading Namibian cyclists and some of the strongest riders from neighbouring countries for four days of competition around the Namibian capital.Miller set the pace in Thursday afternoon's opening ITT, held at the new Rehoboth Bridge, completing the course in 12 minutes and 43 seconds. Christiaan van der Westhuizen of Hollard Elite finished second in 13:26, while Miller's King Price Racing team-mate, Ernest Arnold Roets, took third place in 13:36.In the women's race, Louw of the Tshenolo Women Pro Cycling Team claimed victory in 14:34. Liezel Hellena Jordan of Pirtek Hollard was second in 15:12, followed by her team-mate, Kelsey Jade van Schoor, who com pleted the course in 15:20.King Price Racing topped the men's team rankings, with Hollard Elite in second place and Angola's JT300 team third. Hollard Ambassadors finished fourth.In the women's team standings, Pirtek Hollard claimed first place, followed by Tshenolo Women Pro Cycling Team in second and Cymot Ladies in third.The Hollard Elite squad in the Elite Men's category features defending champion Drikus Coetzee, Christiaan van der Westhuizen, Jaques Hanekom, Denzel de Koe, Ingram Cuff and Theuns van der Westhuizen.King Price Racing is represented by Alex Miller, Martin Freyer, Marco Thiel, Mike Baartman, Marcel Henle and South African rider Ernest Roets.The Hollard Ambassadors team comprises Clinton Hilfiker, Andre Vermeulen, Theo Steenkamp, Gino Chiappini, Theodor Janse van Vuuren and Marnus van Wyk. Angola's JT300 team includes Christian Teixeira Lemos, Jorge Gonçalves, Kilson Rodrigues, Igor Silva, Diego Albano and Yuri Rodrigues.Three teams are contesting the Elite Women's competition. P irtek Hollard includes leading Namibian rider Anri Greeff, Liezel Jordaan, Louise Breed, Danika Lombard and South Africa's Kelsey Jade van Schoor, the 2024 Tour de Windhoek winner.Cymot Ladies features Namibia's leading junior rider, Rosemarie Thiel, alongside Nicola Sauber and Angola's Megan Brechet. The Tshenolo Women's Pro Cycling Team includes Namibia's Monique du Plessis and Michelle Doman, as well as South African ITT winner Lize-Ann Louw.
