Windhoek: A 10-year-old boy was arrested in Windhoek's Otjomuise residential area in connection with the alleged murder of his cousin on Saturday. In a weekend crime report issued on Sunday, the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) indicated that the incident occurred between 09h00 and 10h00 in Mannheim Street, during a physical altercation between the suspect and his sister over a pair of spectacles.According to Namibia Press Agency, Shikwambi said the children's mother directed their 15-year-old cousin to intervene and resolve the conflict. The police report stated that the argument escalated when the girl pushed her 10-year-old brother, who was holding a kitchen knife. The boy tripped and fell directly onto his 15-year-old cousin, accidentally stabbing him in the neck. The teenager succumbed to the injury sustained at the scene.The victim was declared dead by MR 24/7 Emergency Services, and the murder weapon, a kitchen knife, was recovered.In a separate incident in Henties Bay, a 29-year-old Namibian male suspect was arrested on Friday between 01h00 and 02h00 after he reportedly broke into the residence of a 26-year-old woman and raped her.Additionally, in Okahandja, a case of attempted murder under the Domestic Violence Act 4 of 2003 was reported on Sunday when a 31-year-old woman allegedly stabbed a 38-year-old man in the chest following an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The incident occurred at midnight in the Saamstaan location. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim and suspect were in a cohabitating relationship. The victim is receiving medical treatment at Okahandja State Hospital and is awaiting transfer to Windhoek for further care. The suspect has been arrested and is detained at the Okahandja Police Station, and the blood-stained kitchen knife was recovered at the scene.Furthermore, a case of murder and concealment of birth was reported in Walvis Bay after the body of a stillborn baby was discovered in a bag around 15h30 on Saturday. 'It is suspected that an un known individual gave birth and discarded the body in the bag while the homeowner who discovered the bag was absent. The body has been taken to the Walvis Bay Police mortuary for storage and further handling,' the crime report said.Investigations into all matters are ongoing.
