The accident happens approximately 30 Kilometres before Mururani from Rundu town in Kavango West region.

Constable Lukas of Mururani Traffic office who was present at the scene told Nampa that the accident occurred while two trucks were passing Kachinakachi one of them was on its way to Mururani from Rundu while the other truck was moving the opposite direction.

“What happened is that, three children were crossing the road to go to the other side of the road leaving behind the small girl, two managed to cross over. The decease tried to follow her sibling without looking at the other side leading her to be pumped by the truck that was coming from Rundu,” said Lukas.

This agency found a crowd from Kachinakachi location shebeen who wanted to take law in their own hands willing to beat up the truck driver.

The situation was calmed down after the police allowed the truck driver to proceed to Mururani Police station while surrendered his documents [driver licence and identification cards] to the officers.

“I have to let the driver to proceed to Mururani police station while calming the situation while at the same time waiting for the ambulance to come pick up the corps the situation was chaos,” Lukas said.

“These sorts of accidents are now increasing in this area day by day but our effort to get hold of Road Authority (RA) to construct speed humps at such areas proves futile; I am pleading to Road Authority to attend to this matter as soon as possible,” he added.
