The Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation (MoL) offers career counselling and guidance services to provide individuals with direction, motivation and to set career goals with confidence.

A media statement released by MoL Public Relations Officer Otniel Podewiltz on Wednesday said about 2 237 people have received career counselling and guidance services from the ministry between April and December 2022 through individual one-on-one sessions, group counselling sessions, psycho-educational talks and psychometric assessments.

“The ministry offers this service free of charge to school learners, out-of-school youth and the unemployed, while it costs a minimal fee of N.dollars 25 per person to working individuals and organisations,” said Podewiltz.

He added that the services are open to job seekers, people thinking about changing careers, people who lost their job and those who need motivation in terms of their careers.

Career counselling and guidance is designed to help individuals make informed decisions about their careers, leading to greater career satisfaction, performance and success.

The ministry further encourages the public to make use of this service through appointments that can be done at all the ministry’s offices or online on the Namibia Integrated Employment Information System website.

Additionally, Podewiltz said that the ministry published a career guidebook titled ‘Careers in Namibia’.
