Moscow: Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko and Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar discussed the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, with Moscow expressing its readiness to assist Delhi in combating terrorism, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the discussions between the two officials covered various bilateral issues and the schedule of upcoming political contacts. They also addressed the general situation in the South Asian region, particularly the escalation of tensions between Delhi and Islamabad following the terrorist attack near the town of Pahalgam in Kashmir. The statement from the ministry confirmed the commitment of both Russia and India to jointly confront the global terrorist threat.
