London: Most UK residents want to restart trade relations with the European Union rather than concluding a tariff deal with the United States, the Guardian reported, citing a YouGov poll for the Best for Britain organization.

According to Namibia Press Agency, 68% of British voters believe that closer relations with the EU will allow the UK to improve its trade situation.

At the same time, when the British were asked to choose from 20 areas on which the UK government should focus, the country's ability to sign new trade deals with the US was only in 17th place.

The poll was conducted among 4,703 UK residents between March 31 and April 2, margin of error was not specified.
