Windhoek: Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) on Monday conducted a one-day workshop for sponsorship beneficiaries to enhance governance, brand alignment, and accountability within its sponsorship portfolio.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the event was designed to bring together MTC's sponsored partners for a session on effective sponsorship management, forming part of the company's broader initiative to improve the impact and oversight of its sponsorships.

MTC currently supports 13 sponsorship beneficiaries with a total value of N.dollars 19.3 million. Combined with other commitments, the company's overall sponsorship investment exceeds N.dollars 30 million, highlighting its commitment to supporting sports, arts, culture, and community development in Namibia.

Tim Ekandjo, MTC's Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications, and Sustainability Officer, addressed the importance of governance, ethics, and measurable social impact in sustaining partnerships. He stressed that while MTC is proud of its associations, partnerships must adhere to defined rules to ensure accountability and long-term value.

Ekandjo encouraged beneficiaries to focus on initiatives that empower youth and contribute to national development, urging collaboration to maximize corporate sponsorship benefits. He warned against complacency, stating that sponsorship should be seen as an opportunity for growth and social contribution, not merely an end goal.
