Windhoek: Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) officially opened a new mobile home in Greenwell Matongo, Katutura, Windhoek on Friday. This new facility marks the 37th MTC mobile home established across the country.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the launch was officiated by Minister of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) Emma Theofelus, alongside the Mayor of Windhoek, Ndeshihafela Larandja. Theofelus highlighted the importance of making services more accessible to the communities of Katutura and the Samora Machel Constituency. She stated that the mobile home is not just a service point but a symbol of the dedication of various stakeholders to ensure essential services are within reach for citizens.
Theofelus urged the local community to maintain the facility to ensure its long-term functionality and service to future generations. She encouraged the people of Greenwell Matongo and the Samora Machel Constituency to support the MTC staff and to ensure the facility continues to provide services effectively.
Mayor Larandja shared her enthusiasm about the improved accessibility for Katutura residents, emphasizing the convenience and cost-saving aspect of the new facility. She pointed out that residents now have a local option for accessing MTC services, eliminating the need for long-distance travel.
