Windhoek: Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) on Tuesday announced that it had secured the naming rights to the Kasi Vibe Festival, which will officially be known as the MTC Kasi Vibe Festival. MTC has also committed N.dollars 1 million per year to support the event.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the festival's founder, Salmi Shigwedha, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting it as a symbol of belief, trust, and a shared commitment to uplifting Namibian creativity and the business community. Shigwedha emphasized the important role and investment that MTC continues to make in the youth, SMEs, artists, and dreamers.
MTC has always prioritized innovation, connectivity, and youth empowerment, which align with the values that define the Kasi Vibe experience. Speaking at the event, MTC Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer, Tim Ekandjo, revealed that the MTC Kasi Vibe Festival will be a transformed event focused on youth entrepreneurship.
Ekandjo stated that the aim is for the festival to attract not only locals but also visitors from other countries, particularly neighboring southern African countries. He noted that MTC has collaborated with the organizers to develop a new structure and strategy for the festival, which is scheduled to take place in August 2026.
