Nairobi: A 27-year-old man was reportedly stabbed to death in the Build Together suburb of Lderitz, in the early hours of Saturday. A weekend crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Sunday, said the incident happened at around 02h30 when Johannes Lukas was stabbed in the chest and stomach during an altercation. It is alleged that the confrontation followed an incident in which Lukas threw a stone at a vehicle carrying the suspect, his father, and brothers. Another person who was with Lukas sustained severe injuries in the attack. The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear before the Lderitz Magistrate's Court on Monday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, in Khorixas, a 25-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg after an alleged argument over money at a bar. It is alleged that the suspect followed the victim to his home after the argument, pulled out a pistol, and shot him. The victim was taken to hospital, where he was reported to be in a stable condition. No arrest had been made yet.
In a separate incident, three-year-old Anna Gases died after a wall collapsed on her at New Ombili on Friday morning. A six-year-old boy was also injured. According to the report, the wall allegedly collapsed when a Hyundai truck was being moved, and its spare wheel became caught on a gate. Police investigations into all matters continue.
