Windhoek: The Namibian College of Open Learning (Namcol) has announced a new initiative, 'Namcol Connect,' aimed at intensifying face-to-face support sessions for students. This initiative was unveiled by Namcol CEO Ngepathimo Kadhila during the official opening ceremony of the 2026 academic year.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Kadhila explained that 'Namcol Connect' is a collaboration with the Ministry of Education, underscoring the government's dedication to enhancing learner outcomes and improving foundational academic performance. The initiative seeks to boost academic success and prepare students for the upcoming October/November 2026 examinations through interactive tutorial sessions at various centers nationwide.

Kadhila emphasized that 'Namcol Connect' represents more than just additional classes; it is an intervention aimed at achieving excellence and a commitment to not settling for mediocrity. The initiative aims to foster a culture of improvement and excellence among learners.

Namcol has enrolled a total of 28,393 students for the current academic year, covering Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO), and Advanced Subsidiary (AS) programs. Kadhila encouraged TVET trainees to enhance their practical skills, highlighting the importance of skilled labor in Namibia's workforce.

He urged students to take pride in their craft, refine their skills, and become job creators rather than seekers. Additionally, Kadhila encouraged learners to build stronger connections with their teachers, attend lessons consistently, and utilize past examination papers for practice to achieve remarkable results.
