Ohangwena: The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) has deployed a total of 704 police officers across the Ohangwena Region for the 2025 Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections, NamPol's Regional Commander Commissioner, Otilie Kashuupulwa, has confirmed.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Kashuupulwa stated that the deployment covers 352 polling stations, which include 235 fixed polling stations and 117 mobile polling stations. The elections are scheduled to take place on 26 November 2025.
Kashuupulwa emphasized the importance of the deployment in maintaining peace and ensuring voter safety throughout the election period. She assured that the officers are well-prepared for their duties and emphasized the protection of sensitive materials from the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN).
Additionally, Kashuupulwa mentioned that regular patrols will be conducted to support the security efforts. 'Our duty is to protect every citizen's right to vote freely and without intimidation,' she affirmed.
