Windhoek:The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) has called on the public to aid in identifying various items found alongside the dismembered remains of Danelize Majiedt, a 27-year-old who was reported missing on August 30, 2026.

According to NAMPA, NamPol Spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi released a media statement on Tuesday detailing that Majiedt's remains were discovered on October 5 near a culvert on Daan Viljoen Road, approximately two kilometers from a police roadblock. It is believed that this location served as a dumping site rather than the primary crime scene, with DNA analysis confirming the identity of the remains.

The remains, comprising Majiedt's torso and upper legs, were wrapped in linen and placed in black refuse bags, which were then put into two large nylon shopping bags. Her lower legs, feet, neck, head, arms, and hands remain undiscovered. The items recovered include a purple double-bed duvet cover with cursive writing and butterfly designs, a white fitted single-bed sheet, a large orange-and-brown nylon shopping bag with a floral pattern, a large blue nylon shopping bag with watermelon prints, and a red top with the phrase 'Teaching is a work of heart' featuring a pencil graphic.

Police are seeking to trace Majiedt’s movements from August 23, 2026, the date she was last seen, to October 5, when her remains were discovered. Investigators are also attempting to determine the origins of the bedding and shopping bags. Majiedt was known to leave her parents’ home in Starling Street, Khomasdal, to visit areas like Khomasdal, Otjomuise, and Katutura, where drug activities were reportedly prevalent.

Deputy Commissioner Shikwambi has urged anyone who recognizes the items, witnessed suspicious activities, or possesses information beneficial to the investigation to contact law enforcement. Domestic workers, accommodation providers, and the public are asked to report any familiarity with the items or incidents involving discarded mattresses or goods during September or October 2026.

Information can be relayed to Commissioner Nelius Becker at 081 129 9215, Deputy Commissioner Barry de Klerk at 081 129 0054, Detective Chief Inspector Jacky Seraun at 081 815 1784, Detective Chief Inspector Felix Ndikoma at 081 565 053, or Detective Warrant Officer Joseph Sackarias at 081 481 5655. The police assure the public that all information will be handled confidentially, and informants' identities will be protected.
