NE China’s Changchun to Host 2027 Winter Universiade

Changchun: The International University Sports Federation (FISU) announced that Changchun, the capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, will host the 33rd FISU Winter World University Games in 2027. This event marks China's second time hosting the biennial Winter Universiade, with the first being in Harbin in 2009. It also adds to the list of major international winter sports events hosted by China, following the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and the upcoming 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the 33rd Winter World University Games in Changchun are scheduled to take place from January 15 to 25, 2027. This announcement underscores China's growing role in the international winter sports arena and its commitment to fostering global sports events.
