Windhoek: President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and First Gentleman Epaphras Denga Ndaitwah were among the first voters to cast their ballots at the Emma Hoogenhout Primary School polling station in the Windhoek West Constituency. The President emphasized the importance of participating in the elections to elect leaders for local authorities and regional councils.
According to Namibia Press Agency, after casting her vote, Nandi-Ndaitwah acknowledged the peaceful atmosphere at the polling station and encouraged all registered voters to participate. She stressed the significance of voting for leaders who align with their aspirations and highlighted the role of voting in strengthening Namibia's democracy.
The President also reminded the public that 26 November 2025 is a public holiday, set aside to enable all voters to participate. She urged citizens to use this opportunity to make their voices heard by turning out in large numbers.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Elia Ngurare, after voting at the Academia Secondary School polling station, addressed those who abstain from voting. He emphasized the importance of participating in the democratic process, stating that not voting denies future generations this fundamental exercise. Ngurare also called for orderly behavior and respect among voters, encouraging them to embody the spirit of Namibian unity and Ubuntu.
