Newly Elected Oshikoto Regional Councillors Assume Office

Oshikoto: The eleven newly elected Oshikoto regional constituency councillors were sworn into office on Sunday. Magistrate Elvis Mwilima officiated the swearing-in ceremony for both the regional council members and the management committee.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Sacky Nangula, the Omuntele Constituency Councillor re-elected in the November 2025 regional councils and local authorities elections, was chosen as Chairperson of the Oshikoto Regional Council's Management Committee. Serving alongside him on the Management Committee are Nestor Shuuveni of the Onyaanya Constituency, Erastus Nekomba of the Omuthiya Constituency, and Joseph Shilongo of the Nehale Lya Mpingana Constituency.

The representatives elected to serve Oshikoto in the National Council are Moses //Khumub of the Guinas Constituency, Mathew Hangula of the Tsumeb Constituency, and Tulipohamba Nuunyango of the Oniipa Constituency. Ordinary Council members are Saara Shikokola of the Eengodi Constituency, Matias Zambia of the Olukonda Constituency, Mateus Kamati of the Onayena Constituency, and Ndaamekele Esala of the Okankolo Constituency.

In his acceptance speech, Nangula emphasised that the position is more than a title; it is a responsibility to represent and advance the meaningful visions and mission of the Oshikoto Regional Council. 'I am committed to uphold the values of the council and to work diligently to achieve our shared goals. My vision is to outline the goals and plans of Oshikoto regional council,' he said.
