Otjiwarongo: A 50 - year - old man was allegedly stabbed three times in the stomach at Okamatapati Thursday night , but refused to open a case against his attacker . Namibian Police Force ( NamPol ) Detective Chief Inspector in the Otjozondjupa Region Timotheus Gabriel , who is leading the investigations into the matter , told Nampa the 44 - year - old man who attacked the victim has not been arrested as no case was opened against him . Gabriel said the alleged stabbing incident occurred around 23h20 on Thursday . ' The victim was taken to Okamatapati clinic , where he received medical treatment ,' said Gabriel . It is alleged that the victim was stabbed when he tried to stop the attacker from stabbing another person whom he was having a disagreement with at the settlement . The suspect turned on the victim and stabbed him three times with a knife in the left side of his abdomen , said Gabriel . According to NamPol ' s Head of Community Affairs in the region , Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha , the victim was i n a stable condition Friday morning while being transported to the Okakarara State Hospital for further medical attention . ' He told us he just wants to discuss the matter with his suspected attacker instead of opening a case ," said Mbeha . She added that the police often face these challenges with members of the community who allegedly demand compensation from suspects and only after their efforts fail , turn to the police for assistance.Source:The Namibia News Agency
