Windhoek: Old Mutual Namibia on Friday launched a Staff Wellness Centre at the company's premises in Windhoek aimed at promoting the physical, mental and emotional well-being of its employees. The facility offers primary healthcare services through an on-site qualified nurse and serves as a hub for wellness initiatives, including basic health screenings and access to relaxation facilities such as massage chairs.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Old Mutual Namibia Group Human Capital Executive, Ramona Itembu, highlighted that the centre represents a long-term investment in the well-being of employees. 'Our people are at the heart of everything we do. Launching this wellness centre is about making sure they have access to the support they need, not only when they are unwell, but as part of their everyday lives,' she said.
Itembu further stated that the initiative is aimed at creating an environment where employee well-being is normalised, accessible and encouraged. She added that the centre reflects the company's commitment to building a culture where employees feel supported and empowered. 'When our people are well, they are more engaged, more present and better able to serve our customers and communities,' she said.
