Namport: Omaheke second division clubs all target victories in the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Cup competition set for Gobabis's Legare Stadium this weekend. The division's 11 teams will be in action on Saturday and Sunday following the draw announcement by the NFA on Tuesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Nampa spoke to some club heads who shared their preparedness and expectations for the country's elite Cup competition. Epako Pirates chairperson Jomo Jagger stated that his team is well-prepared for the NFA Cup and will leave no stone unturned against opponents. "Our players trained well for the last couple of days and only waiting for the tournament to start. So far we don't have any excuses as all the players are available for selection," he said. Jagger added that the team wants to make history by winning the Cup competition and called on the supporters to come in numbers to the Legare Stadium. Epako Pirates will play the first game of the competition against Kom Haal Hulle from Leonardville.
Meanwhile, Desert Rollers' Zuma Kavirombo expressed that his side, drawn against Omaheke Megasave, is eyeing nothing but glory in the upcoming tournament. "We are ready, no health issues, and the atmosphere in the camp is superb. We have also reinforced our team with two signings from Cameroon in the name of Casemiro Boue and Imanuel Besang Imanuel," added Kavirombo.
Omaheke Megasave FC manager Ben Martin conveyed confidence in his team, noting that a cup competition is different from league games. "We are ready for the battle, we fear no one, and I trust my players as they have trained well. This team wants to write history by winning this NFA Cup," said Martin.
Other fierce battles expected include Otjinene SC against Omaheke SC, and Eastern Chiefs against Kanaan United. Tough Guys FC await the winner between Kom Haal Hulle and Epako Pirates.
