Omaheke Regional Council and Office of the Prime Minister Draft Strategic Plan for Development

Windhoek: The Omaheke Regional Council and the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) conducted a workshop aimed at formulating a strategic plan to guide the region's development over the next five to six years. The session took place in Mariental and spanned from Tuesday to Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the workshop's primary objective was to synchronize the council's goals with the budget allocated to the region, ensuring that the planned projects and programs align with the needs of Omaheke's residents. Omaheke Chief Regional Officer Pecka Semba emphasized the importance of the strategic plan during an interview, noting that it will serve as a vital tool for directing the region's operations and initiatives.

Epukiro Councillor Piniel Pakarae, who facilitated the workshop, highlighted the contribution of the Office of the Prime Minister. In an interview with Nampa, Pakarae stated that the OPM dispatched two experts to assist in the planning process, ensuring adherence to the established guidelines and expectations. The OPM expressed satisfaction with the workshop's outcomes, which were in alignment with the expected standards.

The strategic document developed at the workshop aims to capture the aspirations of the Omaheke residents, and the council is committed to using it as a foundation for future development endeavors.
