Otjiwarongo: A 41-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging in the Freedom Park residential area of Otjiwarongo on Sunday. The Namibian Police Force's Head of Community Affairs in the Otjozondjupa Region, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, told Nampa on Monday the deceased was identified by relatives as Jafet Weyulu.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Weyulu's body was discovered hanging from the roof of their house by his wife and children who had just returned from church around 14h55 on Sunday. Weyulu was an employee of a fishing company in Walvis Bay in the Erongo Region, Mbeha said.

The deceased did not leave behind a suicide note, and no foul play is suspected in connection with his death. Police investigations in the matter continue.
